1944 – born in Monchegorsk (Murmansk district).
1970 - graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Soil Science, Leningrad State University.
1970-1975 – senior researcher in the Laplandski nature reserve (Murmansk district)
1975-1986 – researcher in the Phenological group of the Russian Geographic Society.
Since 1986 – researcher in the Phenological group of the Botanical Museum.

Main fields of interest: phenology of Russia and neighboring countries, climate change.

Current research:
- Analysis of the long-term sequences of phenological data in relation to the climate changes.
- Phenological characteristics of the regions of Russia and neighboring countries
