1982 - graduated from the Faculty of Biologyof the Petrozavodsk State University.
1991-1993 – PhD student at the Komarov Botanical Institute.
1996 - defended the PhD (=Candidate of biological sciences) thesis “Morphogenesis and rhythm of the shoot development in Pyrolaceae on Kola North”. Scientific advisor: Dr. N.V. Shilova

Since 2003 - curator of Collection for Economic Botany in the Botanical Museum.

Main fields of interest: ecological anatomy and morphology of plants, plant introduction, biological collections

Current research: Morphological and anatomical study of the renewal buds of some Pyrolaceae with emphasis on the rhythm of their apical meristem activity.
