1949 – born in Leningrad.
1967 – gardner in the Komarov Botanical Institute
1978 - graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Soil Science, Leningrad State University.
1975-1980 – assistant in the Department of Plant Resources, Komarov Botanical Institute.
Since 1980 –  worked in the Botanical Museum.

Participation in expeditions: Vologodskaya distr. (1975), Central Asia (1976, 1977, 1979), Kamchatka (1978, 1980, 1982-1985, 1987-1990), Komandor islands (1986), Indian ocean on the research ship “Akademik V.I. Vernadski” (1981), Vietnam (1988), Russian Far East (1991-1993).
