 Main fields of interest:

comparative anatomy of vegetative organs of higher plants; plant systematics and phylogenetics; databases for biological collections; biological education; phaenomenological and hermeneutical approaches in philosophy of biology;

 Current research:

- Comparative bark and wood anantomy of Araliaceae and Apiaceae.
- Morphology and evolution of polymerous flowers in Araliaceae.
- Correlations betwwen biomechanic properties and anatomical structure of stems and roots of Coussapoa (Cecropiaceae).
