A new species of the genus Astragalus (section Caprini, Fabaceae) from Turkmenistan

Abstract

Based on materials from the Pordere gorge (Southwestern Kopetdag, Turkmenistan), collected in 2017 and 2022, a new species Astragalus gorelovae A. V. Pavlenko et Laktionov from the section Caprini DC. is described, differing from the closely related A. pinetorum Boiss., A. jarmolenkoi Gontsch., as well as other Turkmen and Iranian Astragalus species by a combination of morphological features (the number of leaflet pairs, the ratio of peduncles and leaves length, flower details).
