Annotation

Vegetation classification based on the approach of Braun-Blanquet continues to actively develop in Russia, which promotes the integration of Russian phytocenology in European science. Developed syntaxonomy is a prerequisite for scientific substantiation of system of protection of biodiversity and sustainable use of plant resources (timber, fodder, medicinal raw materials, etc.; Mirkin et al., 2004). Today the epicentre of the development of syntaxonomy, undoubtedly, is Siberia, where there are such productive phytosociology as N. B. Ermakov, A. Yu. Koroluyk, the main author of the reviewed monograph by G. S. Taran.
