  • Classification of vegetation in the Arctic.
  • Identification of the diversity of lower and description of higher syntaxa of tundra vegetation in the traditions of the Brown-Blanquet school.
  • Identification and analysis of local floras of the East European tundra, materials for floristic zoning.
  • Additions to lichen flora and bryoflora of the East European Arctic.
  • Rare species of flora and work on the regional Red Data Book.
  • Phytosociological indication of habitats based on the ecological characteristics of species, syntaxa and their combinations.
  • Development of a national typology and classification of habitats in the Russian Arctic with reference to EUNIS units.

1984 — graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of the Syktyvkar State University (Department of Botany).
1985 — Internship at the Faculty of Biology and Soil Science of the Leningrad State University.
1987–1991 — Postgraduate study at the Komi Scientific Center of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
1994 — Ph.D. thesis defense (Komarov Botanical Institute RAS).

1994–1999 — Research Assistant, Research Scientist, since 1997, Senior Researcher, Laboratory of Ecology and Tundra Conservation, Institute of Biology, Komi Science Center, Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Syktyvkar.
2003–2006 — Chief Specialist of the Ecology Department of the Nenets Information and Analytical Center of the NAO, Naryan-Mar. Organization of work on the creation of the «Red Book of NAO» (first edition), scientific editor and co-author.
